As a distinguished Hispanic Serving Institution, UTSA is committed to hiring and retaining outstanding tenured/tenure-track (T/TT) faculty who identify as Hispanic/Latino, as well as other groups that are underrepresented in higher education, to serve as mentors and models of success for our students. UTSA updated faculty recruitment guidelines in 2019 to ensure inclusive and diverse practices in all faculty searches. Additionally, the Accelerating Faculty Diversity Hiring Program, a component of the Strategic Faculty Hiring Initiative, supports additional hiring of diverse T/TT faculty who will advance inclusive excellence at UTSA through enhancing student success, research and academic distinction.
