Vice Provost for Accountability and Institutional Effectiveness
Sandra T. Welch, Professor of Accounting, earned her Ph.D. from Texas A&M University. She also maintains her CPA license. She teaches financial accounting and auditing courses. Her primary research and the majority of her publications investigate the commission of fraud. She also has published numerous articles related to accounting or systems pedagogy. Prior to her current position, she served as interim director of the Division of Accounting and Information Systems and chair of the Department of Accounting.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Office of the Vice Provost for Accountability and Institutional Effectiveness is to provide logistical support and relevant, reliable information for institutional planning, accreditation, assessment, and accountability as UTSA moves to premier public university status. We also support the Academic Affairs community in fulfilling the public trust through a system of training and compliance.The functions in our office are described in links to the left.
