UTSA welcomed the most diverse cohort of tenured/tenure-track (T/TT) faculty members in its history during the 2021-2022 academic year. These talented individuals bring new perspectives to campus and move us closer to becoming a university that reflects the future of our students, city and nation.

Here is the demographic data on the T/TT faculty members who joined UTSA this fall.

As a distinguished Hispanic Serving Institution, UTSA is committed to hiring and retaining outstanding faculty who identify as Hispanic/Latino, as well as other groups that are underrepresented in higher education, to serve as mentors and models of success for our students. Additionally, thirty-eight percent of the faculty in this year's cohort are female. By transforming the faculty recruitment and hiring process and implementing the Accelerating Faculty Diversity Hiring Program, UTSA has made significant strides in hiring diverse T/TT faculty who will help advance inclusive excellence at UTSA through enhancing student success, research and academic distinction.
