Join us December 11 for Fall Commencement!

Dear Colleagues,
UTSA’s Fall 2021 Commencement will take place Saturday, December 11, 2021 , and I want to urge you to participate in your college’s ceremony. Celebrating the success of our students is perhaps the most rewarding part of being a faculty member, and watching your students walk across the stage at Commencement is nothing short of inspirational. Furthermore, your presence at Commencement signals to all our students and their families that faculty are invested in student success at our university.
Commencement Ceremonies
There will be two Commencement ceremonies taking place at the Alamodome.
Saturday, December 11 at 10:00 am
- Carlos Alvarez College of Business
- College of Engineering and Integrated Design
- College of Sciences
- University College
Saturday, December 11 at 3:00 pm
- College for Health, Community and Policy
- College of Education and Human Development
- College of Liberal and Fine Arts
For your convenience, you may RSVP here to indicate your participation in your college's ceremony no later than Friday, December 3 .
Shuttle service is being provided this semester for all faculty participants. Details regarding the shuttle service will be included in the Faculty Participants Instructions that will be sent out by the Office of Student Activities on Monday, December 6.
Doctoral Hooding Ceremony
For those faculty with a doctoral student graduating, please participate in the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony. There will be one Doctoral Hooding Ceremony for all colleges on Friday, December 10 at 7 pm in the H-E-B Student Union Ballroom. Please RSVP here to indicate your participation in the ceremony by December 3.
Commencement Drive
UTSA faculty are encouraged to come out and line the parade route to cheer on graduating students as they drive through Main Campus on Friday, December 10 at 3:30 pm. If your department is interested in participating as a group, please sign up with Student Activities by Wednesday, December 1 at 12 pm.
Faculty members taking part in Commencement ceremonies at the Alamodome and/or the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony on Main Campus are asked to wear academic regalia. Please note: a coat check area will be available to store personal items during the ceremonies at the Alamodome; however, there will not be a coat check area at the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony. The deadline for renting regalia from the UTSA Rowdy Campus Store is Thursday, December 2 at 12 pm. Please visit the Main Campus Bookstore in the Student Union to order your regalia; they can be reached at 210-458-4220 to answer any questions.
