UTSA Academic Affairs announces University College dean search
UTSA Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Heather Shipley today announced a search for dean of the University College.

"University College caters to students with unique academic interests and goals, and we are seeking a leader to drive forward our goals of academic excellence, student success, and social mobility," said Shipley. "The ideal candidate to serve as the next Dean of University College will be a passionate advocate for these ideals, and one who is capable of working with faculty, staff, and students to create a refined vision for the college while fostering collaborative partnerships across campus and in the community."

The University College promotes student-centered learning through academic excellence and dynamic, engaged curriculum, offering students lifelong tools for academic inquiry, advancement and leadership. Its programs include the Multidisciplinary Studies program, Academic Introduction and Strategies (AIS) program, Writing Program, Air Force ROTC, Army ROTC, and Dual Credit program.

In addition to offering undergraduate and graduate degrees in multidisciplinary studies, the University College offers a master’s degree in artificial intelligence, a doctoral degree in translational science, a graduate certificate in data science and undergraduate certificates in community-engaged leadership, data science and legal studies.

The university invites internal candidates to apply for the dean position. Applications, inquiries, and letters of nomination should be submitted through the People Excellence careers portal.
