Steve Wilkerson appointed senior vice provost for strategic analytics and integrated systems

UTSA Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs Heather Shipley today announced the appointment of Steve Wilkerson as senior vice provost for strategic analytics and integrated systems.
Wilkerson has worked at UTSA for more than 30 years and has led the Office of Institutional Research since 2011. In this new role, he will continue to oversee institutional research, as well as enterprise analytics, research information technology and analytics, academic finance and administration, and Academic Affairs enterprise systems.
"Steve’s expertise in data reporting and analytics has been instrumental in helping UTSA achieve critical milestones, including record enrollment growth, increased graduation rates and university recognition by Excelencia in Education," Shipley said. "In this expanded role, his leadership will further align our analytics capabilities with UTSA’s strategic goals, enhancing our ability to make data-driven decisions that benefit students, faculty and the entire university community."
A Roadrunner alumnus, Wilkerson earned bachelor’s and master’s degree in biology from UTSA. He holds a Ph.D. in higher education administration from Texas A&M University.
"UTSA is where, as a first-generation student, I discovered my passion for the transformative power of higher education, and I am truly honored to serve in this expanded role," Wilkerson said. "I look forward to continue working with Academic Affairs and university leadership to ensure that we are meeting the needs of our students and supporting faculty and staff in ways that drive meaningful impact."
