How To Get Started in Digital Measures

Digital Measures is a faculty database that is used for recording and organizing your academic and professional activities. Once data is entered into Digital Measures, it is used for a variety of purposes including faculty reviews, workload reporting, credentialing, annual reports, and other custom reporting purposes.

How do I get a Digital Measures account?

All faculty employed at UTSA will have a Digital Measures account automatically created for them through their PeopleSoft assignment. Once your assignment is fully approved, you can access Digital Measures by going to the Digital Measures home page (http://provost.utsa.edu/vpafs/dm/). To log in, click the orange Digital Measures login box and enter your UTSA credentials (my UTSA ID and passphrase).

Why should you enter and update your information Digital Measures?

By entering your information once, it can be used in multiple ways – whether you’d like to generate a vita, submit your annual report for review each year, or simply keep track of your teaching, research and service.

When should you enter your information in Digital Measures?

As soon as you begin employment at UTSA. Then be sure to keep your information current, at least once per year.

Can you transfer your information if your previous institution used Digital Measures?

Yes, if your previous institution used Digital Measures, you can make a request to digitalmeasures@utsa.edu to have your profile transferred over to UTSA. Be sure to include your name and previous institution’s name when making the request. 

Can you import your CV to Digital Measures?

Yes, there is a CV Import function in Digital Measures; however, this feature works best for new faculty who have never used Digital Measures. If you have your current CV in a Word document, you can use the Digital Measures' CV Imports function to upload the information to your profile quickly and accurately.

How do I generate my vita in Digital Measure?

You can run various reports to extract information from Digital Measures, including generating a vita. To generate a vita, click on “rapid reports” from your DM home page. Select the “UTSA Official Vita” from the reports list. Follow the prompts to select the relevant dates and file format. Click “run report” to generate the vita. The vita will open and can be saved/edited as needed. Note that changes to this vita document will not change data stored in Digital Measures. If any of your data is incorrect or incomplete, you will need to navigate to the relevant screen on your home page in Digital Measures and update the information.
